Aboriginal Landscape 1941
After Preston’s death, mainstream art continues to teach art that involves Aboriginal motifs. She has been known as a passionate champion of Australian nationalism and indigenous art. Her techniques and styles of painting are still being taught to students and used among other artists.
She is well known for her use of Aboriginal motifs in her artworks. Some of these features include landscapes, flora and fauna, along with the use of famous buildings and landmarks. Her artwork has been a useful tool to have an insight at events in the 1920's and 1930's.
Preston was the first female artist to be commissioned to paint a self portrait by the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
